Celina Miranda: One of 20 Boston Latinos On the Move

The Boston Business Journal and El Planeta named Celina Miranda, Assistant Vice President and Charitable Giving Manager of Bank of New York Mellon, as one of its 20 Boston Latinos On the Move in 2009.

The award honors business executives making a difference in Boston. Celina is a trustee of  GMA Foundation clients the Mabel Louise Riley Foundation and the Rutland Corner Foundation.

Sam Waterston and Ted Danson both address the subject of ocean acidification in CNN and The New York Times, respectively. In The New Republic appears an article by internationally-recognized scientist Dr. Daniel Pauly on global fishing industries and the collapse of world fisheries .

The Lowell Sun announced that Sonith Peou, program director for Lowell’s Metta Health Center, will receive a Community Health Leaders Award from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, together with $125,000. Of the monies, $105,000 will go to Lowell Community Health Center to be used for expanding Metta’s services and facility.
