Charlesview, Inc. aims to strengthen, deepen, and grow resources and relationships in Boston’s Allston-Brighton neighborhood.

The purpose of this fund is to assist nonprofit organizations in Allston-Brighton which have been negatively financially impacted by the Coronavirus Pandemic. These organizations make up the fabric of the Allston-Brighton community and prior to the pandemic restrictions provided essential basic and life-enriching services that include health and wellness, childcare and enrichment, arts, and education.

Emergency Fund

The fund has been created by the Charlesview, Inc. Board of Directors (“CVI”) to serve as an emergency measure to help organizations continue to function during the COVID-19 restrictions or when they begin to reopen as restrictions are revised by our local and state governments. This fund is a one-time only emergency allocation by CVI that will cease to exist once the allocated funds have been dispersed.

Funds may be used for general organizational operating expenses including contributing to maintaining paid employees. Funds may not be used for any capitol expenses including the purchase of any office equipment. Applicants may request a grant of up to $10,000.

Applicant Criteria

Eligible organizations must deliver their services and programs primarily in the Allston-Brighton community. Priority will be given to organizations who are addressing basic and critical needs of  individuals and families in Allston-Brighton and who have not received other emergency funds. If the organization has received funds, please explain how the addition of CVI funds would be used to meet a critical need in the community.

Decision Process

Upon receipt of the application, Charlesview, Inc. will review the form and in its sole judgement respond with its determination of a grant award. All decisions will be final. Charlesview, Inc. will make every attempt to provide its determination within seven days of its receipt of the completed application.

Post funding, all grantees will be required to submit a brief report on how the funds were expended.
