Carolyn Rau supports the philanthropic work of seven GMA client foundations. Her work covers a broad spectrum ranging from young to well-established foundations, supporting local to worldwide programming, and many variations in between. Carolyn manages competitive and discretionary grant programs and has experience in developing matching grants programs. Philanthropic areas of particular interest to Carolyn include managing the complexities of international grantmaking and analyzing grantmaking data to identify and depict giving patterns.
Carolyn has completed the Exponent Philanthropy Next Gen Fellows program where she expanded her knowledge of foundation operations and the intricacies of grantmaking. Carolyn studied Political Science, French, and Peace and Justice Studies at Villanova University. Her personal commitment to social justice and community service during her studies have transformed into her professional endeavors to collaborate with donors in their efforts to support individuals, families, and communities near and far. Beyond the world of philanthropy Carolyn enjoys playing any sport under the sun and adventuring to new places.
