Carolyn Rau is a program officer and the operations manager at GMA Foundations. She works with a number of well-established foundations, supporting their grantmaking across focus areas and regions. Carolyn led the GMA Funder Community’s Opioid Response Fund – a six-month pooled giving and immersive learning program.
Carolyn is well-versed in managing competitive and discretionary grant programs and consults with donors on their use of grants management software. In her operations role at GMA, she coordinates the firm’s resources to ensure responsive client relationships.
Carolyn is a graduate of Exponent Philanthropy’s Next Gen Fellows program, holds a B.A. in Political Science, French, and Peace and Justice Studies from Villanova University, and is a student in the Master in Management and Organizational Leadership program at Suffolk University. Beyond her commitment to social justice and community service, she is an avid traveler and enjoys playing any sport under the sun.
